Daily Diary, Day 795:
Last week, was the beginning of NaNoWriMo, and today is the 5th day. Everything went pretty much according to plan. I did spend Saturday, Sunday, and Monday getting ready to write. This worked perfectly, so that once I did start to write on Tuesday, November 1, it was fairly easy to keep from being diverted. I did a fair amount of just putting [???] in places where I would have normally stopped and looked things up in my research or in the other books in the series. But I have been really good at not even rereading or doing any editing.
As a result, even though I had one day this week where, because of other scheduled responsibilities, I only got 271 words written, my total for the first 4 days of NaNoWriMo was 6280 words.
Also, despite missing one day of walking (which I have started doing to give my feet a break) I still averaged 85 mins a week of exercise for the entire seven days.
So, my intention for this next week is to continue on as I started, concentrating on writing and exercise, while doing a little marketing, and trying to limit my phone calls to my scheduled weekly appointments with people.
And, to that purpose, I'm going to get this post up so I can get in another hour of writing.
But first, as I mentioned, my mindfulness theme for walking this week is looking for signs of fall (with an occasional contrast with spring-like behavior.) So, here is another one of the trees in the neighborhood that has actually turned color, although a very subdued color. What seems interesting to me is that most of the trees that do have fall foliage, seem to have one branch or side that has stayed green. Not sure why.
The difference in leaf 🌿🍁color on a tree is it's magic. 🙂
This might be a conversation you write into your NaNoWriMo
At the coffee shop, when discussion turned to fall colors, you said you’d noticed that the leaves on different sides of a tree are sometimes different
And I would have brought up a scholar of the natural world. Tristan Gooley
