I was hoping someone else would ask about the blue thing that appears to be on a roof. It may not be unusual on the Coast but I'm clueless.

I think it is a sort of stain-glass window. And it isn't usual, at least in this neighborhood. The house itself is on a a street that was built in late sixties, all one basic one-story model. But many of the houses have been remodeled, often going up to create a second story, and most of those along those lines just had windows, not the tile or the stained glass. I hadn't been down that far on that street very often, so just noticed it for the first time!

Hello,

What's a porta potty? ( I think I know!) but am curious to understand why you provide it for public use and indeed ( I imagine) pay for it to be emptied weekly!

We in the UK, certainly in London and the surrounding areas, have lost virtually all public toilets- luckily, during the day the innumerable coffee shops offer these facilities to customers!!

Yes you guessed right, It is bright blue and about the size of a Tardis (phone booth).and we didn't put it up, although I expect that the cost of it does come as part of our overall cost of the remodel which has been going on for over 2 months now. This is so the workmen don't have to use our bathrooms while they are here working all day. This the first we have ever needed one for various remodel projects (which have never before lasted more than 2 weeks at a time). There is so much remodeling going on in the neighborhood that there are usually one or two that I see on my walks. But there are no"public" restrooms anywhere nearby and so I guess we shouldn't have been surprised at how many people use it.
