Towhees! So that's what they're called. I occasionally see a few of these, but mostly it's sparrows and finches, with robins in the spring. Gave up the feeder years ago, because it drove the cats mad

I did poke a little, hard to tell if she moved, or just the web. But I am worried as well. Don't want to hurt her if she is alive.
Sometimes blowing a puff of air will do the trick too.
Way too high, would need to climb up on the counter, not a smart move at my age (smile.)
Yes I only do it when they're at most a foot above my head.
