Welcome, I’m Mary Louisa Locke, the author of the USA Today best-selling Victorian San Francisco Mystery series and the Caelestis Science Fiction series. In this daily newsletter, I reflect on my life as an indie author trying to age gracefully, including my struggles to maintain a balanced life, what I listen to, read, and watch for entertainment, and occasional bits of information I’ve gleaned from doing the research for my novels.
Daily Diary, Day 1239:
Brief Check in: Yesterday, it rained enough in a short period of time to hit the New York Times! The rest of the day the rain tapered off into the usual foggy/drizzle, which if you stayed out too long would make you a bit damp. And the total precipitation for the day was very high for us, nearly 3 inches. Even when not actively raining, a very gray day. I did my marketing stuff, did my Pilates, and some email correspondence with old friend, sharing our latest lab readings and doctor’s visit information, and trying to keep a sense of humor about it all. And got caught up with my newsletter reading, and that’s all. Just felt like that kind of slow day.
Today, drizzled a little, and I just took my walk and below are 4 pictures, from for different directions, so you can see goes from dark clouds to blue sky. Hope to get in some good writing time.
New Set of Polls
These particular polls are because I’ve become curious about what formats and devices people use for reading. Today I am going to focus on your fiction reading and listening habits. I will really appreciate if as many of you as possible could answer the questions, won’t take but a moment.

"trying not keep a sense of humor at it all" Surely you didn't mean "not."
I continue to enjoy your daily email newsletter and the recommendations. I like the changes you've made.
I used to use my mini ipad but got tired of having a separate device so now I read on my phone. As for whether it's print or ebook--depends on what's available. I get most of my reading at the public library and sometimes I will get the print version because I can keep it longer
