It's fun seeing how you link all of the characters and it makes a lot of sense. I do really enjoy seeing the couples (Annie & Nate, Laura & Seth, Kathleen & Patrick) working together in their sleuthing.
I was very surprised to read that some readers hate Laura Dawson!
Wonderful to learn about your process for when to add or remove a character in a story. For me Laura's personality sometimes comes across as "too much" which in a way can add depth to her character. I love to see further character development as the series progresses in the time settings.
Thanks Petra, and I did create her to be "too much" (what a good way to describer her) because I wanted some contrast between her and Annie! But it's clear from comments in the reviews that this was not always appreciated by some of the readers (smile.)
I see your point regarding the contrast between her and Annie. But I personally don't think it is a negative aspect to have a character who we don't "love", I think it is adding to the story. As I see it, it is just as life, we don't "love" or even like everyone we meet.
I'd love to read more about Iris! I'm sure she has a fascinating backstory, as well as lots of interests outside the print shop. (Deadly Proof is still my favourite of the San Francisco books).
And I really enjoyed the relationship of Annie & Mr Wong - why couldn't they do some detecting together? Maybe a longer novella? I'd love to know how his adoptive children are doing, too.
Looking forward to the next book.

I do love seeing how all this comes together in your mind and writing! I may just have to re-read a book or two! Keep us in the know as you progress

Yes, I am excited to get us back to the people in the print shop, and to have a reason to write about Mr. Wong. So many ideas, so little time (smile.)
