Thank you for your comments. I think you are expressing the horror many of us are feeling. And the feelings of helplessness. I wonder if he thinks this is a game.
But I love the pictures of the flowers so I will watch for those.
On MSNBC, former Ambassador McFaul spoke about how while bombing Iran may be a short term success, it isolates America - no country has supported the action other than Israel. Our position in the world's eyes continues to deteriorate, while China is a country that more and more countries turn to, not the U.S. And we don't know what reprisals Iran has planned, such as attacks against soft targets, like Americans around the world. I suppose we should be glad Trump didn't bomb L.A.
I'm going to watch a ball game this afternoon and tonight, The Gilded Age, and less breaking news.
I was born in 1955 and my father proudly served in the Marine Corps during WWII. His belief was he was fighting for our freedom and our right to vote. Like you, I also believe the following "wars" after WWII were political reasons and not for our nation's security
The fact that Trump and his groupies are responsible for rolling back so many people's rights (voting, abortion, women, LGBTQ, children, DEI, etc) along with the safety nets that FDR implemented is very disturbing.
Wonderful photos of the various blooming purple plants! Purple is positively associated with Wisdom and Spirituality, Independence and Individuality, Calm and Peace.
So lovely to see the photos of plants. So important in these difficult times to find things that bring us joy. Thank you for sharing. They bring me so much joy too. I have decided that for this season in which I am not able to plant that I will continue to have longer living flowers in my little place to bring me joy.
My experience is much like yours. Born in 1943 to a father who would never talk about his war experience, living through all the following wars, and demonstrating against several of them, I was very upset by the news this morning. Thanks for the little moment of delight and the reminder to look for it.
Yeah. Sigh.

The Chinese curse" May you live in interesting times." We are.

History repeating itself. I am grieving.
I love jacaranda trees, also.

Thank you for this.
Here in the UK we hope we are observing from a distance yet fear we will be pulled into this nightmare that Trump is creating with Israel.
We sincerely hope Starmer will not cosy up any more to Trump but stand firm with Europe.
The jacaranda is a wonderful colour more please!
