Thanks for the suggestion. And what a name, a skink! I think what I am seeing is a common fence lizard, and they are usually small and dart away quickly.

Love Jane Austen books made into film...EMMA starring Kate Beckinsale. PERSUASION...with Cirian Hinds (spelling?). PRIDE AND PREJUDICE starring Jennfer Ehle. EmmaThompson's adaptation of SENSE AND SENSIBILITY . I own all of these.

I also love quirky "classics"... 84 CHARING CROSS ROAD starring Anthony Hopkins and Anne Bancroft...she should have received an Academy Award for this!

STRANGER THAN FICTION Starring Emma Thompson and Will Ferrell...really!

WEST WING ...also wirtten by Aaron Sorkin ..the best television series ever made. in my humble but lovable opinion.....my son and I watched the entire series in the summers before he went away!

(He is now 31 ad engaged to be married! So old! But they own a house and a dog together (Charlie, a Boston Terrier who was her dog alone not so long ago) Jesse is a wonderful man, a professional musician and teacher of Percussion who composes for High School and College Level Musicians.

Anyway ... SHITT'S CREEK written by and starring Dan Levy and also starring Eugene Levy...a Canadian Production. The cast is quirky, unbelievably funny and you will recognize a number of the other actors I simply cannot remember their names at present! Ah, well...I do not believe my husband and I have ever laughed and cried so much watching any other series!

-THIS IS US a wonderful, meaningful TV series that just ended in2022..

he BOURNE movies wit Matt Damon ..Suspenseful and Violent but so well done.

I love true classic films, musicals and I can go on forever, So I won;t. ...polly

We also have all the Jane Austins (although we have the Paltrow Emma, I loved West Wing, but it makes me too sad now to think of what has happened in real life. Same thing happening as we get to the end of Newsnight's first season. That's why we liked Studio 360, less connected to real life, but still great writing. We also liked Sports Night (even though neither of us are into sports at all.) My daughter keeps pushing Shitts Creek on us, we tried one episode when it first came out, and didn't continue. Maybe we need to try again!

My sons really "hyped" Shitt's Creek to us , as well. We became more addicted to it the more we watched. The humanity of all the characters really takes a while to reveal itself (lves?)...it is so despicable at first and the family is so hard to like ...though ridiculously funny and other human (?)... think for more Mature folks it takes some getting used to and I believe after our Shitt's Creek adventure it was well worth it just for the laughs and sometimes the poignancy.

I agree wit you wholeheartedly about Aaron Sorkin's string of highly intellectual and compelling dramas...we saw most of Sportsnight...loved the lead actors. .William H Macy and Felicity Huffman (before the scandal!) and the other actors...the writing was, as usual for him, just amazing. We decided early on that he is a prophetic television and film writer to the point where I agree that it is so hard to watch now because though he saved us in his series where is he to save us now? He saw the future so clearly while we were loath to see what might happen if we were not paying attention. I am sorry I do go on and on...comedy is essential in times like these so we can get up and mvoe forward the next morning!

We've watched first 2 Schitts Creek, and my husband was not impressed, but I will suggest we continue for awhile, because there have been other shows that we stopped too early and then later stuck with them and enjoyed. Harder and harder to find things we haven't watched and either rejected or rewatched too many times!

I know exactly what you mean! Didn't watch M.A.SH. til I was a senior in College or Saturday Night Live...had to catch up with the 'great' years when married at 22 with not a lot of $$$$ so not much 'going out'. I keep finding little 'gems' on the streaming services we pay for but rarely use even in our near retirement...just today saw a film called 'Delicious"...French with subtitles and the French do cinema so well...it was a small story...more a novella...and I really enjoyed it...another one Chris, my husband and I found months ago...THIS BEAUTIFUL FANTASTIC ...just a lovely small film starring Tom Wilkinson. I cannot help it I look now and again and sometimes hit the jackpot!

Hello dear Sister - I am catching up on your postings!

I just started a series on Netflix recommended to me and I really like it so far. It is "Extraordinary Attorney Woo."

If you watch it, would like to know if you like it!
