Dear MLL, that is such a deeply touching poem. Thank you - ...thanks to your dad... Any parent must be moved by it's frankness and gentle beauty. ...how can anyone follow that in the parental poetry stakes?!

sincerely

I am so glad to be able to share, and he would be so happy to know that his poetry is still bringing pleasure to others. Thank heavens, beyond some very trite attempts at poetry in my callow youth, I've never been tempted to follow in his footsteps in that realm. smile

What an insightful piece of work. Your dad was a natural poet. His poem evokes a powerful image of a life well and truly lived that was under observation by someone who loved the person dearly. What a gift to have a Father like that! I loved the poem. It was written by a rare person with a rare talent. So nice to have a Dad like that...I wish we all did!
