Daily Diary, Day 635: As I expected, I didn't get a lot written yesterday (little under 200 words), but I did some good "thinking," done about the last few chapters. Finished off the day with a 25 min walk before dinner.
We continued to watch Lincoln Lawyer on Netfix, been some time since we watched a show with lots of trial scenes. Then rewatched a movie we had seen before, title is Locke. The entire hour and a half movie is shot with one actor, in his car, driving to London because a woman is in the hospital having his child. He is constantly on the phone in his car, interacting with family members, people from work, the woman, people in the hospital, so all these actors just have voice roles. Incredible acting all around. I was glad to see it again.
The book I've been listening to this week is Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro. Definitely near future science fiction (main character is a robot called an artificial friend), but at this point I also feel there is a mystery at the core to the story--so combining my two favorite genres and I am quite enjoying it.
This morning, I've already done my daily dust and sweep, on 3rd load of laundry, had my morning walk, and our dog Leeza has had her play date with Rio the Border Collie. Once this is posted, I will start to write, and I only have one phone call scheduled for today, so keeping fingers crossed I will end the week at least meeting my 500 words a day goal.
As usual, I would love to hear what you all are watching, reading, or listening to this week. I thought I would change things up with a succulent photo today. These plants have suddenly sprouted these long stalks with blooms? I always find succulents sort of other-worldy.
We have this same succulent and were gloriously shocked and surprised when it grew over a foot last year and bloomed a stalk flower like this! It’s almost 4 feet tall now and the blooms are fantastic.
I'm listening to Vanishing Vacationers by Hope Callahan and reading Pineapple Cruise, a whodunnit on the Gulf by Amy Vansant. Both are fun and fluff mysteries, but we just finished a 22 day cruise and I wanted to extend the fun. HOWEVER I had to take 2 days off for emergency surgery to remove my appendix!! Know any good medical mysteries? Haha
