The mention of possibly saturating your audience reminded me of a business term I recently read, "intentional withdrawal," perhaps a twist on "keep 'em hungry for more." After a strategic absence one makes a splashy comeback. Your series ideas makes the most sense with your historical fiction. Gotta keep it fresh somehow, like rain and rainbows.
