Welcome, I’m Mary Louisa Locke, the author of the USA Today best-selling Victorian San Francisco Mystery series and the Caelestis Science Fiction series. In this daily newsletter, I reflect on my life as an indie author trying to age gracefully, including my struggles to maintain a balanced life, what I listen to, read, and watch for entertainment, and occasional bits of information I’ve gleaned from doing the research for my novels.
In addition, now and again I will provide some of my fiction to read, for free, on this newsletter. Everything is available to anyone who subscribes, but I am always pleased when someone shows their appreciation for the newsletter by upgrading to paid.
Daily Diary, Day 1382:
It actually became sunny this morning by 8:30 when I was taking my morning walk and so far it has remained sunny, which is lovely. Once again, the weather ap is predicting sunny days for the next 10 days with the temperature primarily in the low 70s.
I am well into the exciting bits of book 6 in the series I am reading, and since I only have one scheduled phone call after lunch, I’m hoping to make a lot of progress on this book today. In addition, I am waiting for a phone call from my endocrinologist to consult about whether or not upping my daily prednisone for a couple days would be a good idea to see if I can knock this stye out more rapidly.
Depending upon how I feel, I may also start to do some minor cleaning in the master bedroom today in preparation for moving back in. Everything in the master bathroom should be done by Wednesday, as I mentioned before, I would like to take the process of cleaning and moving back in slowly, hoping to avoid any more wear and tear on my body. Once we have moved back into the master bedroom and master bathroom, we will need to pack up everything in the powder room downstairs and the hallway bathroom on the second floor in preparation for the asbestos removal, which is supposed to start the following Monday.
I do hope the sunny days continue because with work being done simultaneously on both floors, sitting outside as much as possible will be preferable to sitting cooped up in the master bedroom, which will probably be the only viable place to be when the workers are present for the next two months!
In celebration of the sun, here are some recent sunny colored photos.
