I appreciate the reminder to stay prepared, and also your historical perspective which is so sadly apt these days. I have been trying to news hibernate for the sake of mental health, but I also feel an increasing obligation to speak up and do more.
We had an evacuation recently due to a gas leak. I have go bags by the door. Completely forgot them. Too focused on soothing my daughter who was upset about leaving her cat behind.
I was chomping at the bit to vote as soon as I turned 18. I felt it was a privilege. But, I never really paid a lot of attention to politics. Until now. Every day I wake up wondering what has gotten messed up today or who has been harmed. Never before in my life have I felt this way.
To my 25 yo son, the country is going to get fixed. When I point out actions that directly affect me, such as removing medication price protections, he responds with "yeah, but we're getting rid of the illegal immigrants." He can't see anything else. For the first time in my life, like you, I'm actually frightened of where we are headed and what it will do to our young people.
Glad you are prepared! Reading you daily is a great way to start my day!

I really appreciated your comments today, they echoed my feelings.
Stay safe.
Thanks!
Wow! Can't imagine what that would be like to have to think through what to bring. Scary! Happy almost Birthday, MaryLou!

Thanks for sharing. So hard to have people we love have these attitudes.
