Daily Diary, Day 904: I didn’t get as much work done on taxes yesterday, because pretty much all afternoon was filled with an unscheduled and the scheduled phone call. I also had an unscheduled call this morning, and one scheduled for after lunch today. However, I am not nearly as unhappy to be taken away from taxes as from writing!
This morning, I also put together the draft for my monthly promotional newsletter (which has over 3000 subscribers, which is nifty), where I was delighted to announce that the first draft of Tides of Acerba was completed and that I believe the book will come out in the spring.
I included a cover and the book description, as well as a reminder that the audiobook editions of the first three books in the series are currently discounted. My hope is that people who haven’t read all 3, or read them so long ago they would like to refresh their memories, might take advantage of the discounts to be ready when book four comes out. The first book, Between Mountain and Sea is only $1.99 as an audiobook, and the ebook is free.
If any of you are fans of this Caelestis series and are interested in what it would take to be a beta reader, do feel free to send me an email at mlouisalocke@gmaildotcom.
Apart from doing more filing, I did take a walk this morning, got up to 45 minutes, and it was very, very breezy. See selfie of me standing in wind. Today while walking there were some gusts that felt like they could knock you over, but the local weather station said most of the gusts were under 15 miles per hour. However, last night the gusts got up to around 20-25 miles an hour. Leeza was not happy. In fact, it felt as if she paced (click, click, click of toenails on the hardwood floors) for about 2-3 hours. I slept some of that time, but very lightly, woke up frequently, and my dreams were all of her pacing. Needless to say, I am not good for much beyond filing and organizing today!
I have the audio of Between Mountain and Sea, but the cover doesn't look like that one! We finally delivered all our tax stuff to the tax man today and was surprised that we don't owe as much as I thought, and even a small return from the state! So keep steady. You'll be done soon. We are getting some very chilly wind up in Orange County too, and the dark clouds are moving in.
I totally agree with the new look seeming more science fiction. Best of luck on all four.
