Daily Diary, Day 897: What can I say, besides another long day of writing, with only one, hour-long phone call. Plus, not only did I work a little after dinner last night so I got over 1000 words written yesterday, but I am already up to 1183 words today, with a little more time after this post to write. This means I already have over 5000 words written for the week, with 2 more days to go.
I really do think I might be to the point where I could be working on the final chapter this coming weekend.
Otherwise, sun's out today, I cleaned but didn't walk, and I slept well last night. I also recognize that the sense of urgency my characters are experiencing (it is an action adventure kind of series) is bleeding through to my sense of urgency writing. Which is great, but I need to be careful that I still take care of myself.
Therefore, even though the eye is no longer painful, there is still a fairly nasty lump in the eyelid, which means there is still infection there. So, I need to keep being good about soaking the eye and taking the anti-biotic, even though soaking takes time and is boring, and even though the anti-biotic is causing the expected flare up of arthritis. Sigh, I knew this would happen, I just hoped this side effect would come like more in the 5th week of the RX, not the 2nd.
But I also have seen what happens with these styes when I don't follow the protocol, they come back, sometimes in both eyes! So I am being good about staying the course.
I am continuing to enjoy the new Deborah Crumbie mystery as an audio book (listen while cleaning and soaking my eye), and I am excited that there was a kickstarter for Kristine Kathryn Rusch, Diving Universe science fiction book (which means as a supporter I will get the ebook sometime in April, so I can look forward to that as a reward for getting this book edited and out to my beta readers.)
And as final fun note, I think I mentioned that Leeza our dog had started digging up her dog blankets, particularly in the evening when she lies with us as we watch TV and then at night, and it seemed to me that she was doing this to make the blankets into a pillows (during the day she usually sleeps on a couch where she has a nice squishy pillow that she uses.) So, I ordered this round dog bed with a rim that acts like a pillow. It came yesterday, and she seems to quite like it (smile).
A dog nest!! I need one of those--to write in!
I have bought several "dog" beds for my elderly cat in the kitchen...she loves them. 1 on the kitchen table where she can look outside, and 2 side by side on the floor out of the way. Kit is 20 years old and is locked in the kitchen by screen doors--she can look out, just not get out. Unless I let her go drink out of the rest of the cats drinking bowls (same stuff, just tastes better I guess).
