Daily Diary, May 20, 2022, Day 628: Going to try to make this short, since I really want to get some writing done today. I've already done my hour walk (drizzly, but quite pleasant), started laundry, had my first of 2 scheduled phone calls today, and I'm caught up with email. Going to state here that my writing intentions for the coming week are to limit most of my daily stubstack posts to around 300-400 words--or less!
I have enjoyed writing long posts about my indie journey or my research, etc. and I know it has been successful, in that I already have over 300 subscribers for this newsletter, which is much faster growth than I expected (a big thank you to all of you who have subscribed.) However, I also need to make sure that writing for these substack posts are not eating into my fiction writing. There will be time, for example, when the novella is going through the feedback and editing stage, or I am starting research on the next story, to spend more time on the daily posts. But not now, as I try to finish this novella.
Meanwhile, I am off to write, and here are two blossoms from my walk, different shades, but they seem to be from the same type of plant. Enjoy!
I enjoy your blog but recognize writing your books is probably more important. No issue from me about reduce the frequency and/or length of these to give yourself more time to write fiction.
