Daily Diary: , Day 1146:
Another week where I did a good job of meeting my exercise goals, despite last Sunday when I spent the morning getting some heart tests so I only got in my evening walk. So, by end of the week, I had averaged 98 minutes of exercise a day, with two walks a day and pilates exercise 5 days. So, again my intention is to keep up this pace.
Writing, sigh, not so good at meeting my goals. In fact, I did much worse than the week before, only writing a total of 1660 words this week. Part of the problem was that I was not feeling all that great for a couple of days after spending last Saturday morning getting my heart tested by administering a caffeine like stimulant to my body.
Other obstacles to productivity were unforeseen miscellaneous stuff, like tracking down some fraudulent credit card bills, and a number of unscheduled phone calls. Finally, when I did get back into writing, I got stuck rewriting a scene because it just didn’t work for me. Yesterday, I did finally move onto the next chapter, so I hope that is a good sign!
Obviously, my intention for this coming week is to do a better job of not getting bogged down on tinkering with the writing and not adding any more phone calls to those already scheduled. In addition, I will remind myself that every morning I can push reset for the day, and all the deadlines are mine, so I can always change them.
Addendum: I wrote much of the above post last evening, and looking back at it, it sounded dispirited. Yet this morning, it is now 10:30; and I am feeling quite productive, and ready to start writing. I have spent 70 minutes (in chunks) doing my thorough clean of the upstairs that I usually do on Friday, and everything looks sparkling—at least for a moment. I have also done my 30 minute walk, cleaned up the kitchen, done a load of laundry and showered. Having now heated up my cup of pur-erh (highly caffeinated tea), I am ready to start doing some writing sprints, and I have no scheduled phone calls at all today! So, hopefully I will be able to report a good start to the week in terms of writing.
I also intend on enjoying the fact that the days have been sunny and the nights cool, perfect for the weeks leading up to Halloween, and here is another fun decorations I got last evening, showing some lighted ghosts and a cat.
Good to hear you are right on track.
I must be channelling you! I had the heart test, right when you did, and now I've had fraud charges on my credit card, cancelled it, and now mopping up all those autopayments coming in the next week when I'm without a card! Sheesh! So glay you are off and running today. You have inspired me!
I'm constantly amazed at what you fit into your day. Averaging 98 minutes of exercise a day as well as cleaning, and all the writing that you get done! You set a high bar.
