Daily Diary, Day 774:
First off, I again did not meet my goal of 5000 words written this past week. My main excuse is the fact that I had scheduled a number of phone calls and other tasks for the middle of the week, in case I had a reaction to my Covid booster. I was glad I did so because it made it easy to take it easy when I felt some aches, headaches, and fatigue. Nothing terrible, just enough to give me an excuse to rest and read a bit between phone calls. However, anticipating that this might happen, I worked hard to get a good deal written between Saturday and Monday (the shot was Tuesday), and so by the end of the week I did reach 4102 words.
I also didn’t get in my 90 minutes of exercise each day, although I did always get at least 30 mins of some sort of exercise. And, on my walks, I have had fun concentrating on the various kinds of Halloween decorations that have sprung up this year.
In addition to all the phone calls, I did get an Historical Tidbits post written, as well as putting together and publishing two newsletters and organizing two promotional campaigns that are coming in November.
I also realized today that I have been posting An Aging Author’s Daily Diversions for exactly six and a half months today! I cannot believe how fast the time has gone.
So, in addition to setting my goal for this coming week to finally get back up to 5000 words, and my exercise up to at least 90 mins a day, I am going to write up a sort of retrospective of how this first six months has gone, and where I see it going over the next six months.
To help me do this, I would love to hear from you all in the comments, tell me what you have liked about these posts (Daily format? Word counts? Historical tidbits, Science tidbits, My Father’s poems? Indie Author Journey?), what you haven’t liked (please be frank), and what you might like to see me do (or do more of) going forward.
I am going to leave you with some pumpkins and witches for your continuing Halloween pleasure.
As a housebound senior who only gets out when my hubbie has time for an outing I love following your adventures and the resulting photos. I cheer for you every time you reach the goals you set for yourself, no matter how small they may seem on some days. We all deserve to set our own pace. Keep up striving.
I have thoroughly enjoyed your stream of consciousness commentary of your days plus your father’s poems on Sunday. Keep it up! 😊 I enjoy the historical tidbits and the latest was interesting, noting how people were celebrating Halloween 🎃. A bit different from today’s celebrations.
