Weekly Writing Intentions: October 1, 2022,
Daily Diary, Day 760:
Welcome to October 1, and a day that really does feel like fall, still only in mid sixties! I was really surprised last night when I added up my word count. Despite the continuation of warm weather, a couple of nights with interrupted sleep, and what felt like very disjointed writing schedule, it turned out I wrote a total of 5694 words in the past seven days, so I exceeded my goal! Just goes to show persistence works, because no matter what, I did write every day.
In addition, except for Friday, I achieved at least 90 mins exercise each day. I am, however looking forward to cooler mornings, which should help me walk faster. I was quite happy with my “mindfulness walking” which had me concentrate on looking for a specific color on each walk. I tried to put up the best I found, first having done red, next orange, and today I will finish putting up the pinks I found. I also have started to see more Halloween decorations that I will start to take pictures of this coming week.
As for recreational reading, I finished listening to a Carl Hiaasen on my walks, and I have started a new anthology of Miss Marple stories that are written by different authors, each with different narrators. So far, in my opinion, they have been of uneven quality, although it is interesting to see the common elements the authors have chosen to emphasize. I also read a short book on crows that one of you recommended. This is really making me appreciate the crows I see on my daily walks.
As for my intentions for this coming week, I hope I will again achieve at least 5000 words. In addition, since didn’t do my PT exercises as consistently the past few weeks because it got so hot mid-day, my intention is to make those a more consistent part of my daily exercise again. I also am going to spend some time unsubscribing to a lot of the emails I get, I have to do this periodically. And I am really going to try to put reading the various blog and newsletter articles I subscribe to (and really enjoy) until later in the day. This way they become a reward for the day’s work, not a distraction.
Finally, I have a short Historical Tidbits post about the use of poison pen letters that I want to write, but I will only do that if I feel the writing on the novel is going well. First things first!
