Weekly Writing Intentions: November 19, 2022
Daily Diary, Day 809:
My goal for this week is simple. Do better. By which I mean, be more disciplined about saying no to anything that might distract me from writing. So far, today was a good start. Not a single phone call! I did spend a little more time looking at possible images for covers, so that I could get that off my plate for now. But I also wrote 1182 words, and I should be able to get a few more written after dinner.
I didn't walk, because I decided that Saturdays, when I do my more serious cleaning, should be the one day I take off from walking. I was noticing that on Saturdays between walking and cleaning, my feet got sore on Saturdays. Not surprising, since the serious cleaning has me on my feet for over two hours. This plus looking at photos for the cover took most of the morning. Then I spent the afternoon doing laundry and writing.
Last night, we watched the next episode of Peripheral, the series based on a William Gibson book. They are really doing a great job. While they have deviated in a number of places in terms of characters and plot, they have kept the essence of the book, and they are taking their time developing what could be confusing (two time lines one near future, the other in a post-apocalyptic future) and people who jump between them).
I continued to listen to the Laurie King audiobook while I cleaned today, a story also set in two time lines, one the 1970s, the other the present.
Not sure what we will watch tonight.
Meanwhile, here is the first xmas decoration I've found on my walk (except for my own green wreath that I ordered because I love the smell. It came faster than I expected! I suspect that after Thanksgiving a good number of my neighbors will start to decorate.
