Weekly Writing Intentions: November 26, 2022
Daily Diary, Day 816:
As I wrote last week, my main goal was to do better at being disciplined and getting more written. I do think I achieved that goal. Week before last I wrote less than 2400 words, this week I wrote over 6400 words. A good total, particularly given that there was one day I got no words written and two when I got less than 500 written. And those days, it wasn't that I wasn't working, but that I was spending time filling in the outline for the next chunk of work and doing some editing of earlier chapters.
That is what I was still doing today, after doing the weekly deep cleaning, six loads of laundry, putting away the groceries, and having an hour-long phone conversation with a cousin.
So, while my total word count today was only 313, this was after I cut a good number of words. So I'm not disappointed.
So my intention for this week is to see if I can do as well this week, despite many more scheduled phone calls and an appointment for my yearly glaucoma testing. I don't have glaucoma yet, but because of other health issues, it is one of those things that I could easily develop, hence the testing. For some reason, I find eye exams stressful, whether clicking when you think you've seen a light (the glaucoma test) or have to say whether this lens correction is better than that. Silly, but I feel like I'm "failing the tests" in some fashion.
It will also be the first time I drive any distance alone in the new EV, so I’m going to experiment with the navigation system (we didn't have one in the Prius.) We also just experimented with charging the EV today. Took about 5 hours to increase the charge by 20%. But we were using a 110 outlet. Should go faster when we put in a 220 outlet.
Anyway, it will be a busy week, but I still am hopeful of good forward progress.
Here is a "fall" decorations that I photographed yesterday. I didn't walk today (2 1/2 hours on my feet cleaning seemed enough exercise for the day.) I am curious to see if some more xmas decorations have appeared when I walk tomorrow.
