Daily Diary, Day 615: I can't believe it's Saturday again already (what I consider the beginning of my writing week.) This past week I only got 1554 words written. However, yesterday, I finally made it through my long to-do list. That means this morning, besides the usual cleaning/walk/and posting on FB and substack, the only thing that is listed is Work on Novellla!! In addition, most of my mornings and early afternoons for the rest of the week I've been able to keep free, and I'm going to try to keep it that way.
So, I'm stating as my writing intention here that I not only hit my 500 new words a day goal, but I plan on doing better than that in total word count for the week. Right now, the novella is at 16,623 words, and I believe I am over half of the way through the story. If I can stick to my intentions, I should be well on my way to completing the first draft this week or next. Keeping fingers crossed.
Meanwhile, the work on sprucing up the back yard is done (there will need to be some new bushes planted, but that can probably wait until looks like we are actually going to have some rain.) I have put in a before and after photo of the new lawn. Now, if we can just do a good job of maintaining it, not always easy with a dog, gophers, and a drought. I like to see this as symbolic of my fresh start for the writing week ahead! I’m starting out with good intentions, but a realistic view of the obstacles to overcome.
So cool to see your back yard!
