Weekly Writing Intentions: March 4, 2023
Daily Diary, Day 914:
Going to be another short post, because I'm on a roll! I've already cut 1300 words, and I have an hour more to work.
But a short review of the past week. As I hoped, in the editing I've found a good many places to cut, and by the end of today I will have cut 10,000 words (as well as some rearranging of material to make a some passages read more smoothly, and even some adding of a sentence or two.)
I haven't been as good about exercise. My excuse is that I am still on the RX that kicks up my arthritis, but it looks like I may be on this RX for at least another month (the stye is sticking around), so I decided a couple of days ago I'm just going to have to walk anyway, maybe in shorter amounts than usual. Even though I only walked 3 days this past week, I did still clean-again in shorter bursts, and between cleaning and walking, I ended up averaging an hour a day of being up on my feet and moving around. And there was the usual number of phone calls with friends and family to keep me plugged into the world outside my house and my manuscript.
Since I am now 1/3 of the way through the manuscript, my intentions for this coming week is to try to speed this up just a bit, since I can tell, once I have done all this cutting, I'm going to want to do at least one more quick pass through.
Obviously this coming week I also want to push the exercise a bit, and if I can find some quick science tidbits or author's corner advice to share, I will try that, but that is a lower priority.
So, going to leave you with some cloudy skies (the sun has been in and out all day) and a little bit of spring flowers.
