Weekly Writing Intentions: January 28, 2023
Daily Diary, Day 879:
First a review of how I did last week. I had 3 days when I achieved less than 500 words, one of them only 67 words. However, I still achieved a total of 4314 new words, and by the end of today I should pass the 120,000 word mark. If my outline holds, only 4 more chapters to go.
I did better with exercise, in that I walked six of the days, and with cleaning counted, I had 622 total minutes of exercise (just short of the 90 minutes a day average that is my goal and way more than the 150 minutes of moderate exercise that was recommended in the study I quoted in yesterday's post.
I also did a fair amount of basic marketing stuff, was interviewed by another substack writer, and worked to keep up with all the news about the possible effects of AI on creatives, both in terms of images and text. I also read a couple of articles that I hope to turn into Science Tidbits posts at some point.
And, I had a lovely laid-back birthday where I got my best day's writing done for the week.
So, of course my goal this week is to do better with the writing. Maybe even short change the walks and cleaning if necessary to make sure I get at least 500 words done every day. We are supposed to have a couple of days of rain, so that might be a very good time to stay home and write!
My daughter got us a bird feeder for x-mas, and we finally got it up. I has a tiny camera in it, but we aren't exactly sure how to make that work. However, it's in a good place for us to see it from the living and dining room. Now the birds just have to find it!! I think only the small finches will be able to sit comfortably on it, but if they start to come, and this place works out, maybe we can get a bigger one that will attract some of the larger species, like black headed junco's, California Towhees, that are around.
Off to get lunch, then nothing to stop me from writing all afternoon.
