Frustration with Facebook, working to streamline graphic production, and maybe even writing!
Daily Diary, Day 1101:
I usually post my entries on Facebook as well (which is where I started this daily diary). However, it continues to mystify me that when I do something like the Historical Tidbits post I did yesterday, FB limits who can see it. So, instead of going out to a couple of hundred people—a tiny, tiny proportion of those who have followed the page), it only went out to 50. Simply reaffirming my decision to publish on substack.
Anyway, yesterday, after I posted the third long post on teachers, I had a good day of getting in all my exercise. I have been working hard to get my blood sugar back under control, and I think I have found the culprit. The protein shakes that I use to supplement my protein (I'm a vegetarian who has to limit protein from dairy because of cholesterol issues) changed their formula. I didn't think the new formula was much different, but it seems to have kicked off a problem unless I am very careful with the amount I use with meals. Anyway, being careful (literally weighing the glass with the shake in it) has seemed to solve the problem.
In addition, yesterday I actually wrote 257 words on the novel, not exactly the 500 a day goal I had, but better than I have been doing. I am
Today I have cleaned, walked, started laundry, and had a consultation with someone from Bookbrush (which is a company that lets authors create their own graphics.) They now have introduced a service where you can pay a designer for a limited amount of money to design things like ad. I learned about the service and how to get the consultation on a substack I follow, called The Author Analyst that has a lot of good advice for indie authors.
I have been spending the rest of the morning looking into best practices for this particular kind of ad I want to do.
The plan for the rest of the day is to finish this process, since I need to get the ad created quickly, then exercise, lunch, and I hope get in some more writing on the novel before a scheduled phone call.
So time to get back to work. Here are some very pink blooms from this weeks walks for your enjoyment.
Thanks for your candid posts.
