Daily Diary, Day 1115:
I did get more written yesterday—573 words, and got in my second walk after dinner.
I also had some of my husband’s home made soup last night. It had pasta, potatoes, carrots (which can spike my BS) along with Kale, Edamame, celery, but I only used 1/3 cup of the actual soup – which is very thick-and added a cup of water. At that ratio, it didn’t cause my BP to go up. It also left me a bit hungry, so later this week I will try doing a ½ cup of the soup, plus cup of water, and see what happens. My body as a chemistry experiment!
This morning it was again very overcast during my walk, I even saw a few drops on the ground, but now it is partly cloudy and I have a shaft of sun on my arm as I wait for a scheduled phone call. I went even further this morning in my 30 minutes, so again the combination of cooler weather and getting stronger is making a difference.
I should get some more writing done this afternoon. I will also spend some time making sure my next Historical Tidbit is ready to go next week, and I am shifting my recommendations posts to Friday, so I may start on that, but there is no rush.
I also spent more time yesterday and this morning figuring out how to best schedule putting up the updated novella, The Stars are Red Tonight, that I co-wrote with my daughter. Just re-reading the story (which I now remember came out in 2016) has gotten me excited about sharing it with you all. The plan right now is to do 2 chapters one week (on Tuesday and Thursday) then the next week putting up posts that provide background to the story.
The focus of these posts will be about world building, specifically how the collaboration between authors to create and write stories in the Paradisi Chronicles worked, and how it has influenced the stories I have been writing in this science fiction universe. I hope this adds to people’s pleasure in reading these stories, but I suspect I will be cross posting some of the posts to the Authors Corner because it may be of interest to other fiction writers interested in collaborative projects. I may also include some posts that focus on some of the science research I did as background.
I am now done with the phone call, and it is soon time to do my exercises and lunch. Then back to working on the novel.
I know I've shown blossoms from this particular
rose bush before, it is right at the beginning of my walk, and all of a sudden it has a bunch of buds that are popping open every day! They are so gorgeous.
