Daily Diary, Day 1108:
Got up to 823 words written yesterday, and while I have a morning phone call, the afternoon is free, so I hope to meet at least the 500 words a day goal I have for myself.
In addition, it got considerably cooler last night, so still in high sixties when I walked. I could tell the difference because I set my phone for 15 minutes, then turn around and head home to ensure I get my 30 minutes in, and this morning I made it further at the 15 minute mark than I had been making recently, so I had been walking faster.
Still listening to my History of Rock in 500 songs on my walk in the morning, and I just hit an episode that introduced the early role of Carole King in writing for late 1950s, early 1960s rock. I found it particularly interesting because I had recently started listening to Carole King, (and Joni Mitchell, Judy Collins, Carly Simon) in the evenings as I soak my eyes to prevent getting another stye.
Blood sugar is staying stable, so I am feeling adventurous and had soup for dinner rather than my usual plate of cheese—without any problems. I can see I am getting ready for cooler evenings. This morning my arm is a trifle sore from the flu shot I got yesterday, but I think this is from sleeping on that side, part of the night, but I am not feeling it as I type, which is all that matters.
I was going just going to put up flowers today (found another cacti in bloom) but I just looked over and Leeza is sleeping so soundly and sweetly in a patch of sun, I needed to share the picture with you all as well.
She got a bath at the groomers yesterday, and I washed the cover on the couch and the pillows she lies on, so everything is smelling quite lovely today.
What is so lovely about your writing is that we maybe so far away so much resonates. It is getting cooler here too. I was able to take Humphrey for a proper walk with his ball. I sympathise with your arm that will be me at the weekend. But unlike you, I am not a proper writer I am completely disorganised with my pondering a. Enjoy the cooler weather xx
Ahhhhh.... love the doggy pic! How cute!
