Just one of those days when maintaining the body takes precedent over writing!
Daily Diary, Day 1157:
Starting National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) today. Yesterday, I updated my profile, and I have a few buddies already signed up (one of the main purposes of NaNoWriMo is to motivate people to write. One way of doing that is to become other writers’ buddies, which then will let you see what sort of progress they are making. Theoretically, this will spur you on to make progress as well—if you are the kind of person who is motivated rather than discouraged by this. The goal of NaNoWriMo is to write 50,000 words in the month of November (the idea being this was the equivalent of a first draft of a novel I have never even imagined doing 50,000 words in a month. However, I have participated several times, and I always get more written on average than I would usually do in that length of time, so to me it does work.
Of course, my plans for starting off today with a bang, fell apart when, in addition to the dentist appointment this morning, I scheduled some pulmonary tests for this afternoon, which will probably wipe out much if not all of the afternoon for writing.
So here is it, 10:30, and while I have done usual daily clean, gone and had my teeth cleaned, completed my 40 minute, walk and just soaked my eye for my stye, this leaves less than an hour before I need to do my core exercises and start on lunch, since we need to take off for the clinic just about the time I would be starting to make my salad. Oh well. I can certainly say I am putting my health first!
So, here is a strange plant from my walk this morning (now that Halloween is over). I have never seen this plant elsewhere, and I am not sure if the buds are really buds and will open up at some point, or if this is more a succulent, and these are more like leaves. For those of you who like to investigate plants, if you know what it is, do let us all know!
I spent 4 hours at the orthopedist's office (including getting there) this morning. It takes so much time!
