Welcome, I’m Mary Louisa Locke, the author of the USA Today best-selling Victorian San Francisco Mystery series and the Caelestis Science Fiction series. In this daily newsletter, I reflect on my life as an indie author trying to age gracefully, including my struggles to maintain a balanced life, what I listen to, read, and watch for entertainment, and occasional bits of information I’ve gleaned from doing the research for my novels.
In addition, now and again I will provide some of my fiction to read, for free, on this newsletter. Everything is available to anyone who subscribes, but I am always pleased when someone shows their appreciation for the newsletter by upgrading to paid.
Daily Diary, Day 1338:
As expected, I didn’t quite finish part two of my post about the origins of the short story, Madam Sibyl’s First Client. So today will be a brief check in and I will spend what time I have this morning trying to finish that post so I can get it up tomorrow.
Yesterday was the first day where I did as the doctor advised, which is put the Voltaren cream on four times and broke up my 60 minutes of walking into four different segments. I won’t say things didn’t hurt, but I did feel as if I was tolerating the walks better in the short amounts and I felt less pain by the end of the day.
This morning I have done yoga, done my cleaning, and taken my first 15 minute walk and updated my facebook pages and my webpage to show that three short stories, Dandy Detects, The Misses Moffet Mend a Marriage, and Mr. Wong Right a Wrong are each only 99 cents on Chirp and Spotify.
The material for the remodel is supposed to show up sometime between 10 and 12 and I need to do an early lunch because I have a phone date with a friend from the East Coast and then a regularly scheduled Wednesday phone call. Then, hopefully if I haven’t already finished it, I’ll be able to finish up part two before taking my before dinner walk.
So, a busy day. The weather started out cloudy but its already turned sunny. Here are some lovely blooms I saw on my short walk today.
