Welcome, I’m Mary Louisa Locke, the author of the USA Today best-selling Victorian San Francisco Mystery series and the Caelestis Science Fiction series. In this daily newsletter, I reflect on my life as an indie author trying to age gracefully, including my struggles to maintain a balanced life, what I listen to, read, and watch for entertainment, and occasional bits of information I’ve gleaned from doing the research for my novels.
Daily Diary, Day 1212:
Yesterday’s echocardiogram was easy. It was at a building I’d never been to, but part of a complex I had been to before, and the car’s navigation system got me there with no difficulty, and early because not a lot of traffic the morning after xmas. Lots of parking spaces right near the entrance, no line checking in, and they took me in early. The procedure was probably the easiest heart or lung test I’ve had over the past 4 months and only took 35-40 minutes, so I was back home within an hour and a half. Probably won’t hear anything about the results until next week.
Got a notice that our bathroom remodel plans have been sent to the CAD (Computer aided design) department, and once they have the tentative drawings done the next stage is meeting with the project manager for final decisions like how high the grab bars should be.) Seems like this will probably happen in a couple of weeks. All very organized.
Then rest of the day was spent as usual, with chair Pilates before lunch, writing all afternoon, and walk in the late afternoon before dinner.
Today is going to be pretty routine: walk, write, pilates, lunch, write, phone call, walk, dinner, start to work on end of year Ta da! post, watch tv with husband.
For, now, leaving you with another sunset photo from last evening’s walk.
