Welcome, I’m Mary Louisa Locke, the author of the USA Today best-selling Victorian San Francisco Mystery series and the Caelestis Science Fiction series. In this daily newsletter, I reflect on my life as an indie author trying to age gracefully. Occasionally, I will also publish some of my shorter fiction in this newsletter to read for free.
Daily Diary, Day 1673:
It never did rain yesterday, although it did look like it might a few times. However, the temperature never went above 61 degrees, and it was windy and the weather ap would say, temp 61 but feels like 51! But with a heavier jacket on, my two, thirty-minutes walks were quite pleasant. I did have my scheduled phone call in the morning, but that was all, and as a result, I was very pleased to get 1008 words in the story written!
I hope to do equally well today. But first, trying to order groceries, but the website to do so seems to be not working. I may just need to go and walk and see if it is working when I get back. Otherwise, I have a tentative phone call, and more writing on my plate.
The groceries are finally ordered, and I did get in my first walk (very windy and chill.) Here is what the sky looked like as I left, and here is a gorgeous rose (this color may be my favorite) that I saw just as I was returning home.

Everything I publish in this newsletter is available to anyone who subscribes, but I am always pleased when someone shows their appreciation for what I am writing by clicking the button below to upgrade to paid, thereby providing me more resources so I can spend more time writing my fiction and less time marketing. In addition, please do click on the heart so I know you’ve been to visit and/or share with your friends, and I always welcome comments! Thanks!
Those clouds look scary to me! I definitely would head indoors since South Texas has had so little rain.
THAT LOVELY PEACH COLORED ROSE WAS A LOVELY SIGHT AFTER A FRUSTRATING DAY!
