Welcome, I’m Mary Louisa Locke, the author of the USA Today best-selling Victorian San Francisco Mystery series and the Caelestis Science Fiction series. In this daily newsletter, I reflect on my life as an indie author trying to age gracefully, including my struggles to maintain a balanced life, what I listen to, read, and watch for entertainment, and occasional bits of information I’ve gleaned from doing the research for my novels.
Daily Diary, Day 1269:
Yesterday, I definitely got up to speed with exercise, not so much with writing, but I expected that, since I was starting a new chapter, which always tends to be slow. I also got the monthly newsletter that went out this morning for those who have subscribed to hear about any promotions I am doing for my books, or of other promotions I run across. I also had a scheduled phone meeting.
Today, because I have my usual zoom meeting to get ready for, and a phone meeting after the meeting, I probably won’t get a whole lot of writing time. And then Friday relatives are stopping by in the morning for a visit (they are in town visiting their daughter). We are really looking forward to seeing them and catching up, but with a scheduled phone call in the afternoon, again not a lot of writing time. But, that’s all right, I know I will eventually pick up speed again in time.
Photo of clouds last evening, and a very small rose I saw hiding behind a bush that made me smile. Very sunny today, so first walk very pleasant, although didn’t find anything to dazzle me!
