Daily Diary, Day 1174:
Foot Report: My foot felt 99% better when I got up this morning (for those of you who missed yesterday’s report, I got us yesterday with right foot, at base of big toe, very painful…reminiscent of when I broke my middle toe in that foot 2 years ago.)
I had taken advil before I went to bed, but I haven’t had any since. And I actually did most of my usual Sunday cleaning this morning, which meant being on my feet about an hour and a half, off and on over the morning. Now I am icing toe again, because it still feels as if something is going on.
I am at the stage I don’t want to baby it so much that I get a false sense of security and find myself 20 minutes into a walk and in excruciating pain, which is what happened 2 years ago. Tomorrow I will make an appointment to see someone in the next couple of days and I hope get an x-ray. Whether something is broken or not, I am glad that icing seems to be doing the trick in terms of keeping pain-free.
Yesterday I did some more editing (and 100 new words) done, worked with my daughter to get the Stars are Red Tonight republished, its showing up pretty much everywhere this morning. Also had a phone call yesterday, and I have one scheduled for this afternoon. But otherwise, I hope to make more progress with editing.
My husband is currently making his first batch of holiday cookies (we call snowballs), which I haven’t been able to eat in probably a decade. But it sure makes the house smell good. I did, today, tell him that on my deathbed, when it doesn’t matter, he needs to make me these cookies and his homemade fudge. (smile.)
Here is a photo of one of the few rose bushes still putting out blooms last week. But it did rain a bit yesterday evening and this morning, and then we are to have a couple of days of sun and warmer temperatures, so maybe I will find more blooms when I finally feel I can take a walk.
