Welcome, I’m Mary Louisa Locke, the author of the USA Today best-selling Victorian San Francisco Mystery series and the Caelestis Science Fiction series. In this daily newsletter, I reflect on my life as an indie author trying to age gracefully. Occasionally, I will also publish some of my shorter fiction in this newsletter to read for free.
Daily Diary, Day 1698 :
I ended up having a lovely quiet day yesterday, read, did very mild cleaning, one short walk, a very fun zoom call with a friend, and the advil pretty much took care of most of the aches and pains, and not typing let the bursitis calm down. So after great night’s sleep, this morning I feel back to normal, and have started on my usual Sunday cleaning (which in its own perverse way has delighted me!
However, what small moment of delight I am featuring from this week is the fact that the amaryllis bulbs I got in January for my birthday have finally begun to bloom. These are from one of the 3 bulbs, so I don’t know if sometime later the other two will give me blooms. So, something to look forward if they do! Anyway, delightful to see every time I am in the kitchen.

Anything special delighted you this week?
