Daily Diary, Day 731: I went on my walk early, very glad I did because it is already 80. It got up to 86 yesterday, and I suspect it will get even higher today. I did complete my walk, but the 60 min route took 65 minutes because I was pretty draggy. The result of having had trouble getting to sleep last night because of heat, and not walking yesterday because I had a dental appointment first thing in the morning. (Getting my first implant, the final stage is in two weeks.)
When I was small and stayed at my grandmother’s, I remember her taking her dentures out at night and putting in a glass! Don’t hear much about dentures any more.
Yesterday was a big day for me in terms of getting out of the house. First the dentist, and then in the afternoon my husband and I picked up a niece at the airport and took her to her daughter’s house. She and the mother of her daughter’s fiancé are in town to help the couple move. Wouldn’t you know this is happening during the hottest week all year! But we did have lovely time sitting outside in shade getting caught up with our niece and getting to know the fiance’s mother.
Despite these jaunts outside, I also got 750 words written, which means I am only 200 words short of my 5000 words for the week goal!!
Today I have my usual noon meeting, probably a couple of phone calls, and then an eye doctor appointment in the late afternoon. So, I will be pleased if I get those 200 words done. But then there is always Friday!
A reminder that for September I have the continuation of some audiobooks discounts (Maids of Misfortune, Bloody Lessons, Deadly Proof) and two new discounts, Lethal Remedies, and for the first time, Entangled Threads.
For all of you facing extreme weather this week, do stay cool and/or dry!
Pomegranate Tree from my walk today. Such odd fruit.
I've never seen pomegranates on a tree before!
There's a lovely pomegranate tree on one of my walk routes as well. But it doesn't seem to bear fruit every year. Magical when the sunlight shines through it at just the right angle!
