Welcome, I’m Mary Louisa Locke, the author of the USA Today best-selling Victorian San Francisco Mystery series and the Caelestis Science Fiction series. In this daily newsletter, I reflect on my life as an indie author trying to age gracefully. Occasionally, I will also publish some of my shorter fiction in this newsletter to read for free.
Daily Diary, Day 1592:
Brrr…this morning when we got up, our local weather station registered that it was only 38 degrees! A vast drop from the high of 70 degrees yesterday afternoon. The next few days are supposed to be sunny but only in mid-sixties. However, I will try to bundle up and sit in sun mid-day, because it looks like I am going to have to curtail walking (and even cleaning, oh no!) until I get off the anti-biotic for my infected elbow. As feared, one of the side-effects I often get with a broad-spectrum anti-biotic is tendonitis (and I am allergic to both penicillin and sulfa drugs). As a result, despite trying to be careful yesterday, by the end of the day, the pain flared up every time I was on my feet. Last thing I want is a permanent injury.
So, back to being a couch potato until further notice, but I did get some progress on plotting done yesterday so I hope to build on that today. Not really much blooming outside, and without walks, I will be back to finding objects of interest inside. This cute cat is the other tea pet I got when I got the elephant, and it goes nicely with the gem tea (and the current rose petals I found yesterday at the base of a huge rose bush that didn’t even have any buds on it yet.)
Everything I publish in this newsletter is available to anyone who subscribes, but I am always pleased when someone shows their appreciation for what I am writing by clicking the button below to upgrade to paid, thereby providing me more resources so I can spend more time writing my fiction and less time marketing. In addition, please do click on the heart so I know you’ve been to visit and/or share with your friends, and I always welcome comments! Thanks!
Crazy weather! Colder in Texas than in Alaska!
Yes, pamper your tendons, your feet have suffered enough.
I live further north and am also wondering what happened to yesterday's weather. It's good for LA, I guess?
