Welcome, I’m Mary Louisa Locke, the author of the USA Today best-selling Victorian San Francisco Mystery series and the Caelestis Science Fiction series. In this daily newsletter, I reflect on my life as an indie author trying to age gracefully, including my struggles to maintain a balanced life, what I listen to, read, and watch for entertainment, and occasional bits of information I’ve gleaned from doing the research for my novels.
Daily Diary, Day 1250:
Felt very good yesterday about getting all my exercise back in during the day. I did have the amusing experience of getting all ready to walk in the morning and stepping outside to find it had started to rain. But I came back in, read an article, and by then it was done. I also got about 200 words written. The photos below are from my walk last evening and the sunset in the clouds.
Today it isn’t supposed to rain, but there are still clouds, with sun coming in and out. The next storm is still predicted as coming in Sunday night, so I am determined to get my 2 walks a day, and maybe even be willing to walk in the rain during the next week. I won’t melt!
I was able to combine my morning walk with an unscheduled phone call, and I’ve done the cleaning, ordering groceries, as well, and although I do have another call scheduled for the afternoon, I should be able to get some more writing done, with a more modest goal today of 500 words.
