Welcome, I’m Mary Louisa Locke, the author of the USA Today best-selling Victorian San Francisco Mystery series and the Caelestis Science Fiction series. In this daily newsletter, I reflect on my life as an indie author trying to age gracefully. Occasionally, I will also publish some of my shorter fiction in this newsletter to read for free.
Daily Diary, Day 1634:
Yesterday we got everything in ship-shape for the haulers, and I got started on taxes. This morning, after a particularly excellent night’s sleep, we had a bit of an ant invasion in the kitchen, which my husband and I took care of. Then breakfast, and I started on taxes, which was interrupted by first an unplanned phone call, then a scheduled zoom call, which I just finished. In the middle, two men came and hauled all the stuff away. And after posting this, I will get back to taxes. It is quite warm and sunny, so I do think I will try to take a short walk, and then this afternoon give the exercycle a try.
I will leave you with the before and after pictures of the laundry room. As you can see there is still some small stuff that either needs to be put away in the cupboards down there, or given away to our neighborhood Goodwill. But for now, it is good enough.

Everything I publish in this newsletter is available to anyone who subscribes, but I am always pleased when someone shows their appreciation for what I am writing by clicking the button below to upgrade to paid, thereby providing me more resources so I can spend more time writing my fiction and less time marketing. In addition, please do click on the heart so I know you’ve been to visit and/or share with your friends, and I always welcome comments! Thanks!
Glad to hear that you’re wrapping things up!
I have lots of bookcases and smaller furniture to give away, but am unable to get it all into the same room. Does anyone know of services that will come and take it out of various rooms for me for free? It's all still useful, but I've no need for it.
