Daily Diary, Day 766: Didn't even try to write yesterday. My friend who passed on belonged to the noon zoom meeting I host every Thursday, so I shared. She had done a good job of being positive about her illness, so it was a bit of a shock for everyone, but led to a really lovely spontaneous outpouring of memories and affection. One of the benefits of the technology of today is both being able to get the word out quickly, but also to be able to have this sort of mini-memorial, and zoom meant people could step away easily if they needed time to compose themselves.
However, I was pretty wiped out, so did what I tend to do, which is tackle my to-do list, and I also read in my current mystery.
I did get a good night's sleep, and have had a busy productive meeting, putting out a post for my Historical Fiction Author's group, taking walk, Rio coming over to play with our dog Leeza, cleaning, laundry, an hour phone call, emails setting up a phone date with a cousin for next week, and lunch. Now time to schedule a dr. visit, and getting our ducts cleaned before we turn on our furnace. THEN, I might get to writing.
Today I am going to start with focusing on specific kinds of Halloween decorations, starting with spiders. And this prompts the question, why spiders? I get ghosts and skeletons, as representing celebration of (or warding off of) spirits, but why spiders? Anyone know?
Hello dear MaryLou,
I am sorry that I didn't see earlier that you lost your friend. I am behind in reading your blogs. I know how hard it can be to loose a friend of many years.
Thinking about you with love,
Alice
