Daily Diary, Day 787: Short post this morning because I have a busy morning (walk, Rio, phone meeting). But I also am feeling very productive in terms of the plotting for next part of book, and I want to be able to get to it before lunch.
Yesterday, I found myself working backwards. I realized that until I had a firm grasp of what the major and minor plot threads of next book were going to be, I couldn’t adequately decide exactly what plot threads I needed to start, develop, and complete in this book. As a result, I spent a good deal of time thinking about that next book (and now I need a title for it!) But this set me up for outlining in detail today, and I’m feeling quite positive. I also ended up writing some new words (adding material I now knew I wanted to introduce in this book) which resulted, for once, not cutting but adding 240 words.
Last night, we finished watching Karen Pirie and thoroughly enjoyed. Hope they continue on with the series, I liked the characters. Also watched some Detectorists, which even though we have watched this series multiple times, always leaves us with a smile on our faces as we head up to bed. Had a great night’s sleep as well.
I’m running out of days before Halloween for all the photos I took, so here are a bunch of spooky animals. Again, what is with all the skeletons this year!
Ah, the cutting thing! For some days last week, for every word added to my WIP, I cut almost the same. It was a week of feeling as if there was not progression. How it goes at times, yes...
