Daily Diary, October 18, 2022, Day 777:
Another quick check in today because another busy day. Yesterday, a third unscheduled phone call, in addition to the 2 long scheduled ones, ate up enough time that I only got 804 words written. But, hey, that’s better than the weekend daily average!
Today I have a friend coming over to visit about 11, and wouldn’t you know it, we are having a mini heat wave—80s today, 90s predicted tomorrow. As a result, what was supposed to be a pleasant sit outside, may be an uncomfortably hot sit outside. I have another friend coming to visit even later in the day tomorrow, and I am seriously thinking about rescheduling. Then we are supposed to go back to gray and cool.
This morning it wasn’t too hot yet, and I walked early, so I got in the whole sixty minutes, and swept away the spider webs around the front door and stoop (my idea of tidying for company!)
I’ve now cleaned, written 322 words, showered, cleaned off the cobwebs and dirt from the two chairs on our back patio, and I am ready for company.
Speaking of cobwebs, trees and skeletons draped in cobwebs seem to be big this years, so here is a particularly ghoulish photo.
I hope the next series of photos don't freak you all out over the next two weeks. I will try to intersperse with some flowers, because I've seen a couple of rose bushes sprouting buds. Hope these two days of hot weather don't fry them.
