Daily Diary, Day 820: So I did only get 720 words written today, but this let me finish that section I had decided needed to be inserted way back at chapter 10. Right now I am feeling pretty good about how it turned out. It established a character and information that needed to be earlier, which would then make it possible to refer back to in later chapters to ratchet up tension.
What I will probably do tomorrow is skim through the rest of the chapters that are written, to see where having had these scenes inserted, I either need to refer back to them, or cut because of redundancies, so a little adding, a little subtracting. However, I do hope by Friday I wills start to make forward movement again.
So, I didn't reach my personal 30,000 word goal for NaNoWrMo, but between November 1-30 I did write 21,431 new words.
The rest of the day was as normal, walk, daily cleaning, an hour with a scheduled phone call. Found a sort of hole in the decorative stones in the front of the house, that look to me like some creature has been digging under that section. Leaving a hill of dirt that looks suspiciously like what the gophers were doing to the back yard before we got it redone (with mesh to stop them from popping up). So called a service to come investigate, I think I would prefer the idea of gophers than rats, but probably one or the other. The joys of house ownership.
There were more decorations up today, and the new trend this year seems to be large decorative balls hung from trees that are really the opposite of traditional evergreens. This lends them a rather ironical look that I think I rather like.
LOVE the photo of the decorated tree!! Congratulations on all of your November effort. Very good!
