Daily Diary, November 25, 2022 Day 815: I was successful in getting my husband to rewatch When Harry Met Sally last evening, followed by the finale for the third season of The Detectorists, and we thoroughly enjoyed both. Sweet, funny, and Happy Endings all around.
Today, I got in my walk, did my major upstairs cleaning and laundry (tomorrow will be downstairs), and then Rio the Border Collie came over. During the summer he and our Leeza seemed to have gone off playing much together, so much of the hour became Rio chasing a rubber bone, with Leeza watching, looking puzzled.
But once the weather turned cooler, both dogs started chasing each other again, and Leeza learned that she could steal Rio's bone, which would institute a new round of chase. Today, they were on their feet, interacting, for most of the hour. Fun for them, and fun for us to watch.
I have only gotten 201 words written today, so far, and I have a phone call scheduled with my daughter at 4 to go over what to get the grandsons for christmas. So, probably won't get anything more written.
Mostly the work I did today was going back to chapter 9 and 10, and cutting, rearranging, and shifting some material from internal thoughts to dialog, other dialog into internal memories. I hope to be able to finish this task tomorrow, or Saturday at the latest, so I can go back and start on Chapter 25!
On the walk today, I only saw one set of christmas decorations, but I figure people might use today or this weekend to put some up. Or maybe it's just been too warm and sunny to think about the next holiday. The Santa Ana's have died down, and it didn't get nearly as warm today, but still very sunny. I wonder how many people who came into town to visit family are going to go home thinking they should figure out how to move to San Diego?
