Daily Diary, Day 812: Second day in a row that I had a good word count. Yesterday, I reached 2183 words. Today, I have reached 1746, and again, I might get a little more written after dinner. The key might be, no phone calls, scheduled or unscheduled. But while I appreciate the un-interrupted writing time, I wouldn’t want this to be the norm.
I do have a tentatively scheduled call tomorrow, but I will try to still get at least 1500 words done.
I got in my usual walk, as well as the daily cleaning, and some laundry, and made some progress on catching up on my magazine reading during lunch, so it did feel like a balanced day.
Not sure what we will watch on tv tonight. We finished Magpie Murders, and quite enjoyed it. I’d read the book, so I knew who did it, but that didn’t destroy my enjoyment. Last night we re-watched a very sweet Japanese film, Still Walking. One of those films it is hard to describe to someone why I liked it so much (it is about a family gathering to celebrate the death years ago of the older son). But the characters were so real.
I am almost done listening to Laurie King’s new mystery (a contemporary police procedural), and downloaded a cozy mystery, Holding, by the British talk show host Graham Norton. Hope it’s good. I will let you know once I start it. I do enjoy his talk show, actually the only one my husband and I routinely watch!
Finally, we are still experiencing a mild Santa Ana, with clear skies and lovely sunsets. Here is tonight's.
Lovely sunset. I’ll have to take a look at Graham Norton’s book. We’ve enjoyed watching his show as well.
Holding by Graham Norton is excellent. I also highly recommend A Keeper and Home Stretch.
