Daily Diary, Day 800: We have a new car, drove it home about 45 mins ago. And somehow it took up most of today. For my husband and I, morning spent doing things like working to get various documents sent to the insurance claims adjuster, checking bank statements to see if money that needed to be moved into account had moved. I did a tiny bit of writing (48 words) then it was time to get ready for my noon zoom meeting, had a brief consult on the phone afterwards, and then ate my lunch.
By that time we had heard that the car was ready to be picked up, drove to the dealer, got a short tutorial and lots of things like owners manual. Then I drove around the block (first time driving it), then I drove the new car, and my husband the rental, to the car rental place to turn the rental in. Then home, and I tried to get all the paperwork organized and talked to our insurance agent to get the old car (which we had traded in) off the policy and the new one on it.
And now it is time for dinner, and I hope a quiet, stress-free evening, and I hope a good nights sleep and lots of writing done tomorrow.
I did get in a 55 min walk this morning and took the beautiful picture below. This was one of the trees that I included last week with a post where part of it was turning what I thought was brown and the rest was green. Somehow over night, I assume because i got down to the 40s last night) it turned this brilliant red!
I was afraid that the best our Japanese maples would do this year was turn a dull bronze color. Recently receiving enough rain and lower night temperatures, they've finally produced the brilliant yellows and reds. Now it's really Fall. 🍁
