Daily Diary, Day 1113: As I hoped, yesterday I did finally get some good writing done, 765 words written, finishing a chapter. Of course I woke up early this morning and began to rethink the beginning of the book, feeling it is taking way too long to get to the core of the story. So, today may not produce as many words.
Yesterday I got in my walk after dinner, and that, plus the expanded 20 minutes of chair Pilates, gave me a good sense of accomplishment yesterday in terms of exercise. Today it was drizzling when I walked, so I was rather damp when I got back and did a quick shower before Rio the border collie came to play. He didn't seem to mind the wet grass, but our dog steadfastly refused to do but one run, not liking to get her feet wet.
Then I had a chat with my daughter about my plans to take down The Stars are Red Tonight, the science fiction novella we co-wrote, which is about the origin story of the Kuttner Family. For those of you who have read my Caelestis series, this is one of the ten families, which my character Hen Nain belongs to.
This novella, which takes place on Earth, needs to be updated because real life--in terms of things like AI, and natural disasters, and pandemics--has overtaken the speculative mentions of disasters we put in when we wrote it ten years ago!
Then I plan on putting the updated version up, chapter by chapter, on my sub stack newsletter, the way I did the last historical novella, including background posts about the creation of the world my novels and this co-written novella are set in.
Meanwhile, this morning I have put away the groceries and will try to get in my pilates before lunch, Afterwards, I will see what I can do with my early morning thoughts about redoing the beginning of the current novel I am working on before my afternoon scheduled phone meeting.
I am leaving you with another bush that I have no idea what it is, it is in a yard with succulents, and these flowers seem to be something that came and went quickly, so who knows? But pretty.
