Daily Diary, Day 1106:
Yesterday, I didn’t even meet my low expectations in terms of writing. I think I simply wore myself out with the cleaning in the morning, then I had a lovely 2 hour phone call with old friend. However, that call made me very late starting on lunch, and that left me only enough time after lunch and before my second scheduled call to reread what I had written the day before. That call lasted long as well, which meant I had dinner late, leaving me only time to do my pilates after dinner, no writing. Total for day was 126.
Today, I hope will go better, although this morning, after early walk, doggy play date with Rio the border collie, and finishing up kitchen cleaning tasks that I didn’t accomplish yesterday (getting rid of tea and coffee stains in sink, etc) I only have about 40 minutes before a phone call, then lunch!
However, I don’t have anything scheduled after lunch and no walk because it is still a hot day. Overcast and very still and humid during walk, then it brightened and had a lovely breeze during Doggie play date, then got still and hotter an hour ago (we already have A/C on), and right now it looks like it is going to rain—in fact the weather ap says 63% chance of rain!
I am really looking forward to Tuesday when the heat spell is supposed to end, ushering at least a week of mid-seventies, which is good walking weather!
Below is an interesting bush/ that I had never noticed before. I included photo of the whole bush and then a close up to see if anyone knows what it is. I also included a photo of clouds this morning during that walk.
Now, off to get ready for my phone call, and I hope I have good news in terms of words written tomorrow!
Funny how some days just go sideways to plans! The leaves of the flowering plant look like camellias. Early season for camellias in SD starts in October so these might be enthusiastic early birds. Very pretty!
I can't help with the name of the plant, but I appreciate the composition of the photo! I love the contrast of the light green plants behind the bloom. And the clouds...wonderful! Thank you for sharing!
