Daily Diary, Day 1162: I was pleased that yesterday I actually got 1244 brand new words written on the novel, and I got in a 30 minute walk before dinner and before it got dark, so a very productive day.
This morning, we again woke at least an hour early, with our dog coming in at 5 to ask why we weren't up yet (we are usually up around 5:30, to we were definitely a half hour late from her perspective.)
However, this helped me get in my walk and a trip to the optical shop to get glasses adjusted before Rio the border collie came over for weekly play date. As I've mentioned, the first year we did this, they played very hard with each other, but then Rio started fixating on my husband throwing a rubber bone, and mostly they play in parallel.
Rio's owner a couple of weeks ago brought some rawhide bones that Rio didn't like over, and to our amusement Leeza spent a good deal of time looking for a place to bury them
Today, she brought 3 of various sizes, and gave all three to Leeza, at the same time. Leeza then carryied them all over the place, not finding a suitable place to bury.
I confess we all found it hilarious watching her, and it did give her a fun puzzle. The photo is of her inside where she briefly tried to find a place to bury, but gave up and came back outside. She looks so worried!
Finally, she sat down outside and chewed them. By the time Rio left, she had destroyed two and whittled one down to a small enough length so that she could find place to bury it. She dug a hole, then put it in and carefully pushing the dirt over it with her nose. I know this is what dogs do, but none of the dogs we have had over the years has ever done this, so we are fascinated by the behavior!
Anyway I hope the photo makes you smile.
I am going to have to spend most of afternoon going for more pulmonary tests, so I just have the next 2 hours to write, so off I go.
Leeza definitely brings a smile! Hope your pulmonary tests go well.
She definitely looked worried! Great picture! I hope all the tests go well.... AND Congrats on the new words to page!
