I love tea. My go to's are 2nd Harvest Darjeeling and English Breakfast (both from ArborTeas.com).

I have tried many versions of Earl Grey tea. It is not for me. I get tired when I order black tea at a restaurant and that is what the automatically serve me.

As to how tea affects you: I read once that coffee has an alkalide that dumps the caffeine into your system in one big blast. Hence the quick onset of jitters. Tea, however, does not have that and slowly gets the caffeine into your system, a bit at a time.

My go- to tea has become some version of English Breakfast. I really like the Tazo brand, but was feeling wasteful using tea bags so I switched to Numi bulk tea. They have a breakfast blend (black) that has a rich well-balanced flavor. I do love Asian teas as a special treat. A friend of ours had a tea shop at Japantown, SF, where we could get small quantities of a wide variety of teas. So much fun! For hubby's birthday one year, our friend did a traditional Japanese tea ceremony. He had built a traditional tea house inside his apartment. An absolutely amazing 4 hours focused on tea and Japanese ceremony. Unforgettable.
