Welcome, I’m Mary Louisa Locke, the author of the USA Today best-selling Victorian San Francisco Mystery series and the Caelestis Science Fiction series. In this daily newsletter, I reflect on my life as an indie author trying to age gracefully. Occasionally, I will also publish some of my shorter fiction in this newsletter to read for free.
Daily Diary, Day 1699:
As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, I was pleased to wake up yesterday feeling none of the side effects I had been feeling from my Covid booster on Friday. No headache, no achy muscles, no arthritis flare-ups. Consequently, I did all the extra cleaning I do on Sunday, with a little catch up from what I didn’t do on Saturday. Did it in three different bouts, but altogether did over an hour and a half of cleaning (which also means I listened to that much of the current audiobook I am listening to—so win, win.) And I do like looking around and everything looks sharp and clean…not fuzzy from the dog’s hair!
I also got in both walks, wrote over 600 words and finished the book I was reading. I am hoping I will be as productive this morning. Already have done yoga and cleaned, and I do have a phone call scheduled in the late afternoon, but otherwise the goal is to keep reading (started the fifth and final book in the Chanur series) and writing.
Today we woke up to drizzle, so I am waiting to see if it clears before going on my first walk. More mist than drizzle, but we also had the beginning of a rainbow at one point this morning.
But I am sure the plants in the neighborhood are loving it. I am certainly loving looking at all the blooms.
