Daily Diary, Day 617: I hope everyone found a good way to celebrate the nurturers in their lives yesterday.
I had a short chat with my daughter and gave her permission to start sending me links to TikTok videos she likes, which pleased her immensely! So far so good in terms of her finding ones that I also enjoy. I also reordered some of my favorite teas, splurging on some samples of high priced pu-erh and lapsang souchong teas to try out. As you can see simple pleasures were my celebration.
Moderate success on writing, 1303 total new words over the weekend, and I already have written 363 words this morning. Keeping up the two walks a day. Although, I had to make another appointment with dentist for tomorrow, since the tooth beside where the tooth was extracted continues to be sore--especially when I walk. I am hoping it just needs to be shaved down a little. Maybe I need to do a little research into dentistry in the 19th century, and this will give me more reasons for having gratitude for living in modern times.
Jacaranda trees are blooming! They really do brighten up the neighborhood. Back to work for me! I want to get past 500 words before lunch.
Yes to 19th century dentistry! Check out the silent movie, Greed, with a very young zazu Pitts. Follows a young man from Sierra Foothills gold mining camp to San Francisco where he sets up as a dentist, meets Ms Pitts, gets married and it's all downhill from there. Set in late 1800s, filmed on location in early 1900s. A classic.
